VMware Explore 2022: Anuncios sobre APP Modernization. ¿Qué significan? ¡Un breve resumen!

¡Buenos días a todos! Llegamos al meridiano del VMware Explore 2022 y como siempre ya tenemos muchísimos anuncios: Cambios de nombre, estrategias, nuevas features y un sinfín de etcéteras! En este pequeño post quiero hacer un simple resumen de que viene pasando en materia de automatización y contenedores, con Tanzu a la cabeza! 

1- VMware Cloud Foundry suma soporte para Tanzu Application Service, Project Korifi, y Board Seat: https://tanzu.vmware.com/content/blog/vmware-cloud-foundry-support  

  • ¿Qué significa? VMware sigue invirtiendo esfuerzos en la búsqueda de simplificar el proceso de llevar el código a producción, mejorando la integración entre Cloud Foundry y Tanzu application Service. 
  • ¿Qué es Cloud Foundry? «Utilice Cloud Foundry para escribir código en cualquier lenguaje, con cualquier framework, en cualquier clúster de Kubernetes. Omita la configuración compleja de entornos y las tareas operativas triviales para concentrarse en crear su aplicación, con la tranquilidad que brinda un entorno altamente seguro» Fuente: https://www.cloudfoundry.org/  
  • ¿Qué es Tanzu Application Service? «VMware Tanzu Application Service es una plataforma de aplicaciones moderna para empresas que desean entregar y ejecutar microservicios en las nubes de manera continua.» Fuente: https://tanzu.vmware.com/application-service 
  • ¿Qué es Project Korifi? «La misión de Korifi es servir como una capa de compatibilidad de Cloud Foundry sobre Kubernetes que permitirá a las organizaciones preservar su experiencia de desarrollador de Cloud Foundry existente dentro del ecosistema de Kubernetes.» Fuente: https://tanzu.vmware.com/content/blog/vmware-cloud-foundry-support 

2- Nueva VMware Tanzu Tech Zone: https://tanzu.vmware.com/content/blog/vmware-tanzu-tech-zone 

  • ¿Qué significa? VMware re-diseño completamente su tech zone para Tanzu. En esta web podran encontrar muchisima informacion y recursos para aprender sobre tanzu y su funcionamiento. 
  • Recomendación: Aprovechar los path divididos por version. Desde la informacion de producto hasta los hands on labs, todo es realmente util para aprender sobre la tecnologia. 

3- Tanzu Kubernetes GRID 2.0: https://tanzu.vmware.com/content/blog/vmware-tanzu-kubernetes-grid-2-0 

  • ¿Qué significa? Se libero la nueva versión para la distro de Kubernetes más potente de VMware. Cuenta con soporte para vSphere 8, suma herramientas basadas en Carvel y mejoras en la API para ser más flexible y eficiente a la hora de desplegar contenedores. 
  • ¿Qué es Tanzu Kubernetes GRID? «Implemente y ejecute workloads en contenedores en nubes públicas y privadas.» Fuente: https://tanzu.vmware.com/kubernetes-grid 
  • ¿Qué es Carvel? «Carvel proporciona un conjunto de herramientas que ayudan en la creación, configuración e implementación de su aplicación en Kubernetes.» Fuente: https://carvel.dev/ 

4- Nuevas características en Tanzu Service Mesh: https://tanzu.vmware.com/content/blog/vmware-tanzu-service-mesh-enterprise-capabilities 

  • ¿Qué significa? Se agrega soporte para la autoridad de certificación empresarial propiedad del cliente a través de la integración con Venafi, seguridad mejorada con registros de imágenes de contenedores aprobados por la empresa, soporte de servicios de datos, soporte de servicios externos y un panel de SLO global que permite a los desarrolladores e ingenieros de confiabilidad del sitio ver todos los SLO de servicios administrados, lo que ayuda con la planificación de la capacidad, la resolución de problemas y la comprensión del estado de sus aplicaciones. 
  • ¿Qué es Tanzu Service Mesh? Es la plataforma de VMware Tanzu para conectar y segurizar aplicaciones. Fuente: https://tanzu.vmware.com/service-mesh

5- Tanzu for Kubernetes Operations: https://tanzu.vmware.com/content/blog/vmware-tanzu-for-kubernetes-operations-updates-vmware-explore 

  • ¿Qué Significa? Se anunciaron numerosas mejoras en VMware Tanzu Mission Control, VMware Tanzu Kubernetes Grid, VMware Tanzu Service Mesh basado en VMware NSX, VMware Aria Operations for Applications y VMware NSX Advanced Load Balancer. 
  • ¿Qué es Tanzu for Kubernetes Operations? Ante la complejidad que representa la infraestructura en la nube y el deploy de Kubernetes, VMware ofrece Tanzu for Kubernetes Operations. Esto es básicamente la sumatoria de tecnologías de VMware Tanzu. Tanzu for Kubernetes Operations proporciona las herramientas, la automatización y los conocimientos basados en datos para ayudar a optimizar el rendimiento de la infraestructura en todo el estado de TI de varias nubes. 6- VMware Aria Operations for Applications: https://tanzu.vmware.com/content/blog/unified-observability-platform-by-vmware-aria-operations-for-applications 

  • ¿Qué significa? VMware Tanzu Observability cambia su nombre y suma nuevas features para la observabilidad de entornos Tanzu. Esto incluye la visualización de errores y registros permitiendo, entre otras cosas, correlacionar y solucionar problemas.  

7- Visibilidad de ciclo de vida de los clústeres de Amazon EKS a través de Tanzu Mission Control: https://tanzu.vmware.com/content/blog/preview-lifecycle-management-amazon-eks-clusters-tanzu-mission-control 

  • ¿Qué significa? La posibilidad de crear, administrar y eliminar clusters de VMware Tanzu Kubernetes Grid en: vSphere, Azure, Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2), Clústeres de Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service, a través de Tanzu Mission Control. Esto se traduce en mayor flexibilidad y la posibilidad de optimizar las operaciones de Kubernetes. 
  • ¿Qué es Tanzu Mission Control? Es la plataforma Multi Cloud de administración de Cluster de Kubernetes de VMware. Fuente: https://tanzu.vmware.com/mission-control 

8- El servicio de aplicaciones VMware Tanzu actualiza el formato de control de versiones: https://tanzu.vmware.com/content/blog/vmware-tanzu-application-service-versions-lts 

  • ¿Qué significa? El equipo de Tanzu mejora el formato de control de versiones para comunicar mas claramente los cambios en cada versión. 

9- VMware Tanzu Application Service: https://tanzu.vmware.com/content/blog/vmware-tanzu-application-service-3-0-sneak-peek 

  • ¿Qué significa? Tanzu Application Service lanza la versión 3.0 y con ella nuevas funcionalidades enfocadas tanto en los desarrolladores como en los operadores.
